Please read these instuctions prior to uploading, the logon tools appear below the instruction text. You will experience best results using an up-to-date browser such as Netscape 6 or Internet Explorer 5 or above.
IMPORTANT: All ad files MUST be compressed for upload.
PC USERS: Compress all files as a .ZIP archive using WinZip.
MAC USERS: All files must be compressed with "StuffIt", Stuffed and BinHex'd. Never make a StuffIt file self-extracting if you are going to upload it to MSP
FILE NAMES: Do NOT include special characters in your file name. Avoid using: \ / : * ? < > | "
COMPRESSING: Also, avoid stuffing file and bin hexing file as well; so it doesn't indicate a double extension name. (file.zip) For whatever reason this causes system slowdowns as well. |
FILE TRANSFER CHECKLIST:
1. INCLUDE ART FILES: All file links need to be included with the final file. This means ALL placed and/or stored/embedded images MUST be sent, including logos, photos, illustrations, maps, etc. These files should be saved as TIFF or EPS files. The recommended resolution is 300-450 DPI. Files save as GIF, JPG, or PICT are low resolution and are not intended for print use. All files must include 1/8 inch bleed if image is to print to the edge of the page. Design programs we currently accept are Quark 6.5, Indesign CS, Photoshop CS, Illustrator CS. If you would like to submit files in some other program please contact our production dept. production@gutprint.com or call 212.333.3033 for more information.
3. COMPOSITE PROOF REQUIRED: All electronic files must be accompanied by a hard copy composite print-out or pdf. Proofs are necessary for all jobs and should be sent to us along with your files. If no composite proofs is provided, we will supply you with one which will require your approval before the jobs goes to print. Note: Proofs and Changes to your files submitted without a hard copy are chargeable. Files that are not print ready (See guidelines above) may also incur a prepress fee.
2. INCLUDE FONTS: All POSTSCRIPT fonts used MUST be sent with the file. Please include the postscript and screen version of font. We are unable to use PC True Type Fonts and will substitute our postscript version or similar font if needed. |
